General Question

Frequently Asked Question Regarding Our Hardwood Flooring

What’s the difference between hardwood and engineered hardwood?

Solid hardwood is one piece of wood and can often be refinished multiple times. Engineered hardwood has a real wood top layer with a stable core—great for certain homes and conditions.

Most projects vary by size and scope. After we measure and confirm material choices, we’ll provide a clear timeline and next steps.

Sometimes, yes. A stable, flat subfloor helps prevent movement, squeaks, and uneven boards. We inspect and recommend what’s needed.

Can you match my existing hardwood?

In many cases, yes. We can often match board size/appearance closely and use stain/color matching to blend repairs or additions.

If the floor is structurally sound and thick enough, refinishing can be a great option. If there’s major damage, warping, or repeated past sanding, replacement may make more sense.

Matte/satin hide everyday wear better and look modern. Semi-gloss/gloss reflects more light and shows more detail (and more dust). We’ll help you choose based on the space and traffic.
